Demigod Ascendant marks a shift in a character’s progression where he embarks on a journey leading to godhood. From now on, he stops advancing in any and all classes forever and starts advancing in the Godhood classes instead.

Minimum requirements:

Lvl 30
19 in a prime ability score
18 charisma

(Monsters turning into demigods must have a minimum HD of 50 with no ability score requirements, be turned into a Paragon creature instead of gaining Demigod Ascendant levels, and their demigod status might appear due to a number of reasons, but never from actively pursuing this status themselves. There might be exceptions to this rule, but none which are known yet)

Triggering the Trial:
Assuming you meet the requirements, you must find your way to the City of Union and stand before Chief Councilor Revenia, the spokeswoman of the Union Council. There you must demand (yes, demand, not ask) to take The Trial of the Immortals. If you do not have default access to City of Union you may try to trick, sneak or force your way there, but do make sure your one and only illegal action is gaining unauthorized access to the city. If not, they might simply elect to punish you instead. Note: Do not, I repeat DO NOT assume that your determination will not be tested by the council.

Levels:

Each level requires 2.500.000 xp, and rewards normally granting maximum experience now only grants 500.000 xp.

Each level, including the first level grants the following:
+1 wp
+1 nwp
+1 epic feat
+1 natural AC
+1 hit
+1 caster level (You don’t advance in your caster class, but your effective caster level increases. So if you were a lvl 8 wizard and lvl 30 fighter, and are now a lvl 9 Demigod Ascendant, you cannot cast lvl 5 spells, but you cast your lvl 4 spells as a lvl 17 magic user.)
+1d12 hp (+con bonus)
+1d100 followers
+5% MR

The Demigod Ascendant Class has 10 levels, and after gaining all the xp the 10th lvl needs, you will ascend into a lvl 1 Demigod. Each lvl of Demigod ascendant offers unique abilities:

1 Access to The City of Union (gain the ability to planeshift to City of Union once a day. In your mansion, there will be a one-way portal leading back to a fixed location of your choice on your home plane), but not it’s gates and portals (this includes the gate to The Plane of Trials – ie. you are not given access to that gate either), the sirrush companion/mount (which can either come with you or stay in your mansion in City of Union)
2 Immune to energy/lvl/abilitydrains or ability damage
3 Immune to illusions, charms and mind affecting spells
4 immune to non-magical weapons
5 double base movement
6 able to act after dimension door/teleport etc.
7 all your attacks are ghost touch
8 reroll any die roll once pr. playing session, even hp rolls. MUST chose the 2nd roll.
9 Cannot die from old age, no negative effects from aging, cannot age magically
10 Access the Pantheon (the plane of your demigods, gods and greater gods)

If you succeed in the trial, you will be granted another meeting with the Union Council. There you will be granted Demigod Ascendant status as well as the choice of one of several possible rewards:

Familicide – scroll of unknown origin. Casting this spell on any Demigod or lower will instantly slay the creature and all its offspring, and all its offspring’s offspring and so on, until the whole bloodline has been erased. This is such a powerful scroll that it can only be used by Demigods and higher. It has to pass through MR, but the MR of the subject is halved (if the subject dies, the bloodline dies, no MR or saves or anything). There is also a save vs Death Magic. The saves of the subject are halved and the DC is 40+your caster level+your cha bonus. The act of using this horrible scroll will permanently bestow you with a -150% penalty to Magic resistance, regardless of the outcome. This scroll can only be used on your own Prime Material Plane and a successful touch on the target is needed.

Godly transferrence – scroll of unknown origin. Casting this spell on any God or lower strips the God of all it’s powers and transfers them to you, effectively making you the target of your spell. The target will be incapacitated for a maximum of 10.000 years, but also totally invulnerable. This is such a powerful scroll that it can only be used by Demigods and higher. If left alone, unharmed and starving for the duration of 10k years, it will perish. If not, it might grow in power and regain it’s former status while simultanously draining you of all the stolen abilities. This process of regaining strangth can only be halted or stopped, but not reversed once it begins. If not completed before the 10k year period is over, you both will stay at your current power stage from then on. MR resistance doesn’t apply, but there is a save vs Death Magic. The saves of the subject are halved and the DC is 40+your caster level+your cha bonus. The act of casting this spell will attract the attention of the victim’s Greater God, but it will otherwise go unnoticed as long as there are no actual vitnesses to the event. The act of using this horrible scroll will permanently bestow you with a -75 penalty to all saving throws, regardless of the outcome. This scroll can only be used on your own Prime Material Plane and a successful touch on the target is needed.

Gateway of Shadows – scroll of unknown origin. Casting this spell near a Gateway of Shadows will allow you to enter it without alerting the Sentinels of Stone. Entering the Gateway of Shadows allows you to exit anywhere at any time on the Prime Material Plane it is located (a wisdom check DC 35 is needed to appear at the exact pinpointed location. Failing the check means you might appear a bit sooner or later than planned and maybe not at the exact location, in addition to alerting the Sentinels of Stone, which will follow you in 1d10 rounds and deal with your trespassing). The Gateway of Shadows is created when a Greater God creates a planet/Prime Material Plane and functions as a way for it to go back and forth in time to rearrange stuff, correct mistakes, etc. However, using this scroll allows you to use it one time, and if you succeed in the wis check, you will do so unnoticed (not only by the Sentinels of Stone, but also by the Greater God itself, as well as the feared Agents of Time). Once exiting the Gateway of Shdows, you have 1 hour to act on your current location/time before you have to go back again. If you fail to go back before the time is up, you will be stuck at the current location. Be adviced that changing the past can result in unwanted and surprising results. This is such a powerful scroll that it can only be used by Demigods and higher, and casting it will also permanently bestow a penalty of -150 natural AC, regardless of the outcome.

The Greatest Magic User Ever – scroll of unknown origin. The duration of this spell is up to 1 round pr. current 10 HP at the time of casting (for obvious reason you both can and might want to end it prematurely). Effects:
Your caster level is tripled.
All your spell damage is tripled.
Your spell penetration is tripled.
The save DC on spells you cast is tripled.
Cast any 3 harmful Epic spells at will every round.
Your Magic Resistance is tripled.
This is such a powerful scroll that it can only be used by Demigods and higher, and when it ends it will permanently remove 10 HP pr. round it was in effect

Psionic Scrolls – scrolls made in City of Union (you get to choose only 1 scroll). Each scroll works as it’s wizard or priest counterpart. There is one scroll for every spell in 2nd ED PHB. They are psionic spells, so MR doesn’t apply, and they work in anti-magic and dead-magic zones. The damage they cause is psionic, too. A lvl 4 Psionic Fireball spell cast by a lvl 20 Psionic Sorcerer would deal 10d6 Psionic Fire dmg. If you are immune to Fire, you take only half damage. The save DC against Psionic spells is 20, unless otherwise noted. All saves are save vs Spell, regardless of what the original spell description says. Anyone targeted by a psionic spell, have their saves cut in half before saving vs a psionic spell. These scrolls can be cast by anyone, with no chance for failure.
